Obedience Challenge - Day 34

NEW CHRISTIAN BIBLE READING PLAN

Welcome to today's Obedience Challenge! We're beginning an epic, 90 day Journey through the Gospels, learning to love and follow Jesus as his disciples.

The Scripture reading for today is: Mark 6

TODAY'S COMMAND TO OBEY:

Today, we're reviewing Mark 5-6, and meditating on the command of Jesus in Matthew 6:33, where he says, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

What does this mean, and how can we obey this command of Christ? Watch the teaching video from yesterday to learn how to seek first God's kingdom.

Don't forget to check in with your mentor, so you can continue to grow spiritually!

Reach out: Take a minute and ask for prayer support as you try to think about keeping this command. This one’s tough to apply in your life. One of the benefits of a mentor is it keeps us from being deceived in our own minds... keeps us honest to the Word of God by giving us outside eyes and voice. That's super valuable! ~ Darrell

How can I train new Christians to grow in holiness?

Bible study on holiness and sanctification

You can download the Pursuing Holiness workbook or to take the entire video course yourself. In this 40-day campaign, you’ll learn the definition of holiness, how you can become holy, why God expects you to be holy, and how to grow and increase in holiness. We'll examine questionslike:

  • What is God’s holiness, and how does he re-create it in humans?

  • What is sanctification, and how can I be sanctified by the power of the Holy Spirit?

  • What is Christian perfection?

  • What is holiness in the Bible?

  • How does God make Christians holy?

  • How holy can we really be in this life if no one is perfect?

This 40 Day discipleship journey for growing Christians, taught by Darrell Stetler II, will take you deep into the heart of God, seeing the beauty of His holiness, and learning to long for it in your own life.
